Features

H.264 Vs Mpeg4

For to long PC based DVR systems have been developed with Mpeg4 based compression, which whilst the file sizes are small Mpeg4 is not of same Video quality as H.264, Mpeg4 has major issues when moving objects move in front of a cameras such as people walking or cars, whilst H.264 does not have this problem, this is where Mpeg4 has major video interlace issues. Mpeg4 compression also tends to be very pixilated on full screen playback. Also incurring video interlacing with moving objects.See below Mpeg4 video interlace image.

H.264

also known as MPEG-4 AVC (Advanced Video Coding), is a video compression standard that offers significantly greater compression than its predecessors. The standard offers up to twice the compression of the current MPEG-4 ASP (Advanced Simple Profile), in addition to improvements in perceptual quality. The H.264 standard can provide DVD-quality video at under 1 Mbps, and is optional for full-motion video over wireless, satellite, and ADSL Internet connections.
